Sunset on Phi Phi Island
It's undoubtedly THE sight to see. As the day draws to a close, the sky lights up and the sea is adorned with golden glitter.
Of course, you don't need a spotlight to watch the sunset. The whole island is ablaze and the water is on fire. A stretch of sand overlooking the Andaman Sea and you're in paradise. For those who prefer to sip a juice from a more comfortable seat, you can go to, for example:
Ton Sai Bay, at the beach bar "Phi Phi Rimlay", east of the jetty towards Long Beach. This completely open wooden hut has - almost - its feet in the water. Facing the bucolic Long Tails, the sun sets behind the mountain.
At Loh Dalam Bay, the aptly named "Beach Bar" has its feet in the water. Its tables and chairs are planted in the sand, illuminated by small candles planted in the ground. A must for lovers.
Your best bet is to reach the viewpoint and enjoy a drink while watching the orange, mauve and purple spectacle that envelops Phi Phi's crescents. But beware of the night descent. The more adventurous can also enjoy the sunrise, but - ascent included - you'll have to get up very early.
