VIDEO: PHI PHI VIEWPOINT
PHI PHI ISLAND VIEWPOINT
The best way to see Phi Phi is to gain altitude and reach the viewpoint, situated atop the highest mountain on the island. The path is clearly signposted in the village, simply follow the signs "Tsunami Evacuation Route". This is the path that residents should take in case of tsunami warning. Moreover, since December 26, 2004, is essentially on this mountain that the people rebuild their homes.
The trail begins with a series of very steep stairs. Then, a paved path passes between small typical thai houses. Chickens roam freely in the middle of dense vegetation. We're in the jungle! Watch out for
insects, like the long brown worm, centipede-style, as it can seriously injure or kill. Be careful where you step and avoid open shoes.
IN THIS VIDEO
From
Tonsai village, we need a little more than half an hour to reach the breathtaking panorama offered by the
Phi Phi viewpoint. The walk is quite demanding.
The climb begins with a series of high steps in a dense forest. Immediately, the visitor finds himself surrounded by rich vegetation, orchids, palms, peppers ... and some harmful insects (see above). Then, the path becomes easier.
Finally, the reward. Arriving at the top, between heaven and earth ... The view is breathtaking and it is not just an expression. In low-cons, the details seem to fly along the clear waters.
At the top of the Viewpoint, a
small bar (snacks, chips, sandwiches, chocolate bars and soft drinks - no alcohol) embraces a fascinating view of
Phi Phi Don and
Phi Phi Leh, in the background.
