VIKING CAVE (BIRD NESTS CAVE), KOH PHI PHI LEH
The Chinese are fond of swiftlet nests (a bird of the family of swifts often confused with swallow), which are supposed to boost virility. These birds roost away from predators, protected in high caves. To reach the nest, gatherers are using fragile bamboo scaffolding.

On the road to
Maya Bay, your driver will inevitably slow down in front of this high cave in
Phi Phi Leh. Look at the tangle of platforms and altars that thais have erected to honor the spirits of the cave and before which they meditate before climbing their fragile scaffolding.
